Company offer you the opportunity to not only fly like a bird in the skies over breathtaking Nepal, but the once in a life time experience of flying with a trained Pilot as your guide. You will fly , finding and marking soar and glide over lakes and fields, the stunning Himalayas in the background.
Sarangkot Paragliding are the only paragliding company operating in Nepal, with their head office in Sarangkot, a beautiful village 5km west of pokhara, the capital of the mountain kingdom.
You will be taken by jeep to the launch site at Sarangkot from where you can see three of the highest mountains in the world, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna and Manasulu, all over 8000m.
You will then be fitted into your harness and attached to a fully qualified tandem pilot who will then launch off into the sky with a trained Pilot. Your Pilot will guide you to the thermals and you will reward him by calling him to your fist during your flight.
Along the way it is not unusual to encounter wild birds of prey, including the huge Himalayan Griffon Vulture, Egyptian Vultures, Golden Eagles, many species of falcon and numerous kites, who will join you in your flight.
Tandem flying involves a passenger flying with a pilot. Both have separate harnesses that are attached to each other and the wing. Paragliding harnesses are built for comfort and safety; they feel more like an armchair. After take-off the passengers just sits back, relax and enjoys the unfolding magnificent sceneries. Because paragliders can foot launch and gently foot land again and are very portable we can take them anywhere and fly from most mountains in Nepal. Tandem flights cost US $100 and two longer courses are also available.
